Questions about consignment?
Our terms of contract apply to all of our consignors and are listed below:
1) Consignors will be accepted on a membership basis for an annual membership fee of $10 per year. this fee will be an automatic deduction from your consignment account on the anniversary of your membership. The initial $10 membership fee will be deducted from your account within 3 days of contract signing. In addition, a drop off fee of $2.50 will be charged to your account every time a consignment is brought in, regardless of its size.
2) ALL clothing items brought in for consignment must be clean, in season, in style and in excellent condition. Items must be cleaned and pressed and on hangers, wrinkled items do NOT sell. Please try not to bring clothing in on hangers that need to be returned.
3) Your consignment will go through our processing line which includes several inspections
A) First processor inspects for very obvious problems, bad condition, out of style, inexpensive brands etc. The remaining items go through a thorough inspection, changing hangers, determining sizes, entering into the computer and pricing before going onto the sales floor. Reasons why things may be donated include: clothing out of season, need cleaning or repair, out of style, etc.
B) Items that have been accepted for consignment will be donated after 90 days or may be donated due to season changed or for any other reason the item is unsaleable.
C) Occasionally, IYWD may at its own discretion decide to fix an item or store it for the following season.
D) Antiques, furniture, collectibles and home decor will become property of IYWD if abandoned after its negotiated 90-160 day consignment period.
E) You may pick up a donation tax receipt after January 15th for the preceding year.
4) Management at IYWD determines pricing. when items are sold you will receive 40% of clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories. When antiques, collectibles, furniture and home decor sell you will receive 50% of the sale. After 60 days your clothing and or accessories will be marked 50% off. Our statistics show that 76% of clothing items sell at full price.
5) You may pick up a check Mon- Sat 10am - 5:30pm or you may use your account credit to purchase any merchandise in our store anytime during normal business hours.
6) Consignor checks are good for 30 days.
7) Due to increased costs incurred, IYWD will also charge a $35 fee to locate and get ready for pick up any item a consignor decides to pull from our sales floor and have returned before its consignment period is over.
8) Management will not call when items have expired or sold. You must assume responsibility for checking on the status of your consignment. You may check on your account at any time during regular business hours.
9) Management will take reasonable care of your consignment, however, responsibility of theft, damage from fire, water etc. will not be assumed.
10) Consignments are taken by appointment and exceptional drop off basis.
11) You may call for a free consultation or housecall if you need larger items cleared before bringing them into the store. It is always best to forward photos via email to inyourdreams@att.net for pre-approval.
